Boat Launch

For ages 10+. Navigate the Shenandoah River's South Fork in kayaks in a ~2 hour ranger led trip. This is a great opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the river and learn about the flora and fauna of the region. The cost for the trip is $11 per person. Reservations and payment must be made at least one day in advance by calling the Visitor Center at 540-622-6840. Space is limited, so reserve early. Weather and river levels can affect this program. If conditions are deemed unsafe, the trip can be rescheduled or refunded, depending on guest preference. Meet at the picnic area parking lot by the boat launch.
Kayaks, paddles and bug repellent are provided for you. We can provide Personal Flotation Devices as well but you are encouraged to bring your own if you have one, just make sure it fits properly. Good items to bring along are sunglasses, lots of drinking water, and sunscreen.
