How do you tell a dogwood tree? By its bark! Get outside for a ranger-led hike and learn some tips on how to identify some of the common native trees found in Pocahontas State Park. You will learn to spot unique features and simple ways to remember which trait belongs to each tree along the way.

The hike will cover about one mile of fairly even terrain. Please dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes. Bring water, snacks, sunscreen, and bug spray. Dogs are welcome but must be on a 6-foot leash. This program is suitable for most ages.
