Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m., beginning Feb. 15 through April 30, per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

Bushey Point Canoe/Kayak Launch

Enjoy a lazy mid-morning canoe adventure at Leesylvania State Park on Powell's Creek! View the park from this tranquil tributary of the Potomac River while catching glimpses of the park's ospreys, eagles, herons, egrets, fish and a multitude of other wildlife. Besides our fury, feathered, and scaly friends, Rangers will discuss other aspects of the park's ecology and history. No paddling experience is required; all participants must be of 6 years or older. Spots are limited so make your reservation today and call the Visitor Center at (703)583-6904. Fee is due at time of reservation. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to event start time. Don't forget appropriate clothing, footwear, sunglasses, sunscreen, and water.
