Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m., beginning Feb. 15 through April 30, per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

Did you know that Caledon was once an ocean floor? Find out how fossils are created and what types can be found here as we scour parts of our Potomac shoreline that are not accessible by land for these clues to the past.
Masks are requested during the van ride. Bring plenty of water, dress for the weather, and wear close-toed shoes and clothing that can get wet. Must be 16 years or older for a solo kayak and 6 years or older (accompanied by an adult) for a tandem kayak.
Paid reservations are required as space is limited. To reserve your spot, give us a call or stop by the Visitor Center. Parking fee is $5.
