Enjoy the history of this area as well as our park with both self-guided and ranger-led programming.
Self-guided programs include an Audio History Tour of the Howe House and an online Virtual History Tour of the park. Information regarding these tours is available online and is posted on kiosks throughout the park. The audio tour involves a short walk around the Howe House and grounds as you listen to an interesting narrative of how it all came to be. The online virtual tour features photos and video clips from the park in the past.
Ranger-led programs are as follows:
11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. - Howe House History Tours @ the Howe House front porch
Is there a town under the lake? Or a man-eating fish? Or ghosts in the house? Find out on these answers and more on this tour.
3:00 p.m. - Father's Day Crafts @ the Beach Building Discovery Room
Create a card or other work of art for Father's Day using natural objects found in the park.
5:00 p.m. - Roaming Ranger @ throughout the park
Watch for a roaming ranger carrying some mysterious bit of history as they travel through the park.
7:00 p.m. - Welcome Campfire @ the Interpretive Campfire Circle in Campground D
Enjoy the warmth of the fire and some living history for this week's campfire. And, of course, free S'mores!
