Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m., beginning Feb. 15 through April 30, per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

Stuart's Knob Hike

Join a ranger to hike the Stuart's Knob trail and learn about the history of Fayerdale and the importance Stuart's Knob played to in helping the residents earn money throughout its short tenure.

This trail begins on Iron Mine trail and features an iron mine used by Fayerdale residents and an overlook of Fairystone Lake before transitioning into the Upper and Lower Stuart's Knob trails. Lower Stuart's Knob provides an overlook of Bull Mountain. Upper Stuart's Knob has steep terrain, but offers a stunning view of Fairystone Lake.
