Astronomy is totally stellar!

Join retired NASA engineer and scientist Brad Perry and other local astronomers for program two in our Dark Sky series at Belle Isle. We'll talk about Stellar Astronomy - focusing on the stars of the night sky. Double stars, a galaxy and nebula will all be in view, but you'll also discover why fighting light pollution is vital to keeping them in our sights.

This event is geared to all ages and will highlight what makes Belle Isle a great place for night sky viewing. It will be held rain or shine.

The Andromeda Galaxy, located some 2.5 million light-years from earth, is the nearest large galaxy to our own Milky Way; it is visible to the naked eye under a dark sky
