This is a drop-in event, so feel free to come by anytime between 12 and 4.

In 1780 Captain John Cox successfully defended the Austinville Lead Mines from British attack. Legend has it, he left behind a basket full of gold coins.

Bring the kids to the Discovery Center to learn how to read a map and compass, what trail markers are, and more, as they search the park for Captain John Cox's lost gold.
