Sept. 23, 2023. 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
In recognition of National Public Lands Day, we invite guests to join us at Sailor’s Creek Battlefield Historical State Park on Saturday, September 23, as we explore local spider varieties and habitats with renowned spider expert Joe Lapp.
Discover the diversity of spiders in our neighborhood, observe how they live, catch their prey, and avoid becoming prey, and see some local spiders up close. Joe specializes in teaching people who are afraid of spiders, so if they make you nervous, don’t worry! This program is appropriate for adults and kids, so bring the family.
Join us at the visitor center with the kiddos at 1 p.m. where The Nottoway County Library will provide a children's story & craft hour. The story will be "Diary of a Spider" by Doreen Cronin followed by a bookmark craft and snacks.
Please wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes. This program will begin at the Visitor Center. Please call (804)-561-7510 for more information.
