Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m., beginning Feb. 15 through April 30, per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

Become a member, volunteer, and a citizen scientist for the Hungry Mother Chapter of FrogWatch USA. This is a frog monitoring program that has collected data for the past 26 years. This data assists scientists to understand the causes of frog and toad population changes over a period of time and place. Snacks and all materials will be provided.

Participants who sign up to become members of FrogWatch USA will receive a one-of-a-kind patch. There is no cost for this program or for a membership. Please register for only one of the days by emailing FrogWatch member: mongotek@comcast.net.
