How can a person kayak by ear? When you are kayaking and listening for birds with Holston Rivers Master Naturalist and Hungry Mother State Park volunteer, Melanie Smith. Melanie is fantastic at hearing birds up in the dark foliage. She will point out where the bird is located and hopefully someone will be able to spot it. Enjoy a peaceful morning with Melanie, as we paddle around the park listening to the sound of the natural world and gentle lapping of the water on the lake.

Participants must be at least 8 years old. Please register at the Discovery Center or by calling 276-781-7400.
