Chippokes State Park, 695 Chippokes Park Rd., Surry, VA 23883.
Farm and Forestry Museum

When

Feb. 3, 2024. 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

The month of February is nationally recognized as an annual observance and celebration of African American History and excellence.  Upon visiting the park you'll find many historic buildings and structures that are direct links to the time period of enslavement, vast agricultural fields, and plentiful cultural, natural, and historical resources.

Beyond these fields and buildings, that your eyes can see, there are important narratives of the men, women, and children who worked and lived here over the years as Chippokes has continuously changed and evolved.

Join a ranger as we walk along the historic Quarter Lane from the River House to the Jones - Stewart Mansion to uncover the lost and hidden stories of the enslaved people of Chippokes.

Meet at the Farm & Forestry Museum parking lot.
