Bird Feeders Craft

Location of Powhatan State Park in Virginia

Where

Powhatan State Park, 4616 Powhatan State Park Rd., Powhatan, VA 23139.
Shelter 1

When

Feb. 17, 2024. 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.

During this ranger-led activity, we will get to know a few of our feathered friends that can be found in the park or in your backyard. Where do they build their nests? What do they eat? You’ll find that the answers are as varied as the appearance of each of these distinctive critters. For the second part of the program, we’ll use peanut butter or vegetable shortening, sweet gum balls, sticks, and pinecones to make feeders that provide tasty treats for our winged neighbors. Hang the feeder in your backyard and see who comes to visit!

We will meet at Shelter #1, near the playground parking lot. Please dress for the weather; it may be quite chilly!
