March 1, 2024. 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Celebrate National Pig Day and meet a very special ambassador animal of Chippokes, Tazewell the pot belly pig.
Potbellied pigs are native to Southeast Asia and have been imported into the U.S. since the 1980s due to their intelligence and capabilities as trained pets. There are so many neat facts to learn about these social animals.
Do their tusks grow? What do they eat? How long do they live? Have you ever wondered why pigs choose to roll around in the mud?
Learn all about Tazewell during craft time with a ranger.
