May 10, 2025. 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
In recognition of Nurses Week and Mother's Day, Sailor's Creek Battlefield will host a program that highlights the invaluable contributions and sacrifices women have made to achieve their current positions in medicine. As we all know, medicine in the 1800s was vastly different from what it is today, particularly during times of war. This program will also explore how medical care was provided during that era and the remarkable advancements made. Join us in the Visitor Center to see how far the practice of medicine has really come.
This rain-or-shine program is free to the public. For more information, call the Visitor Center at 804-561-7510 or the program coordinator directly at Alexandria.Jones@dcr.virginia.gov.
