Celebrate the rich history and culture of Virginia's State Parks by diving into the archaeological work that has been done on Mason Neck. By sorting through the remains of former civilizations and cultures, archaeologists can put together the pieces of how people lived in the past.

Guests of all ages can participate in a fun, interactive archaeological dig to learn more about the previous inhabitants of the Mason Neck Peninsula. Rangers will also have examples of artifacts found during excavations in and around the park.

This program includes three stations where participants can find and piece together items from the past to become Junior Archaeologists.
