TBD

When

June 1, 2024. 1:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

As a special opportunity during the park's quarterly cleanup, for National Trails Day 2024 park rangers will be leading trail upkeep crews along the Long Pond and Holly Marsh trails. Upkeep includes clearing leaf debris and pruning trail corridors, as well as trash cleanup.

The group will meet in the Visitor's Center at 1:30pm to debrief before heading out to the designated trail at 2:00pm. The park has a limited number of rakes and pruners available for use, so if you have your own you are welcome to bring them! We also suggest bringing a pair of gardening/work gloves to avoid blisters and scrapes, as well as water to stay hydrated! So we can know if you are coming, please sign up here.

You must check in at the Visitor's Center to get a volunteer mirror tag before attending this event. The parking fee is waived for volunteers.

Per Virginia State Park policy, volunteers must be registered to participate in volunteer events at the park. If you are not a registered volunteer, you can sign up here. Don't forget to select Widewater as your park!
