Where
Widewater State Park, 101 Widewater State Park Road, Stafford, VA 22554.
Throughout the Park
When
June 2, 2024. 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Come and join us for our seasonal Summer Park Cleanup! Volunteers will work alongside rangers to pick up trash and refuse at the Boat Launch, Potomac Recreation Area, and in various woodland parcels.
Each day has two cleanup periods:
Morning: 9am - 12pm
Afternoon: 1pm - 4pm
Groups will meet next to the Visitor's Center to debrief before heading out to the designated location.
The park has a limited number of trash grabbers available for use, so if you have your own you are welcome to bring them! The park will be supplying nitrile gloves (while supplies last) and trash bags; you can use your own gloves as well. Don't forget to bring water to stay hydrated and wear footwear with good ankle support! This event will happen rain or shine, though if there is inclement weather predicted the event will be moved/cancelled for that day.

You must check in at the Visitor's Center to get a volunteer mirror tag before attending this event.
Per Virginia State Park policy, volunteers must be registered to participate in volunteer events at the park. If you are not a registered volunteer, you can sign up here. Don't forget to select Widewater as your park!
