The New River winds its way through three states (West Virginia, Virginia, and North Carolina) and countless communities who have depended on its bounty for generations. At 320 miles in length, the river is designated an American Heritage River and is part of the National Wild and Scenic River System. It is an ancient river and one of the five oldest rivers in the world.
Blue Ridge PBS has partnered with the New River Conservancy to tell the story of this magnificent waterway via stunning videography, fascinating interviews, and engaging stories from many whose lives are rooted along the New. The movie will start at 8:30 p.m. in the Amphitheater in the Historic Village of Foster Falls. Admission is free; Virginia State Parks standard parking fee still applies.
