Join the Smith Mountain Lake community in the effort to eliminate poverty in the region. The "SML Walk to End Poverty", honoring Jim Cameron and our neighbors in need, will assist Lake Christian Ministries in developing more programs and services to fight this growing crisis. LCM's ongoing mission is to provide food, emergency financial aid, food and household goods, and counseling services to more than 2,000 neighbors in need in our community.
Walkers, runners, individuals, and teams are welcome, and friendly competition among teams is invited and encouraged. Most importantly, all proceeds from the walk will remain in the Smith Mountain Lake Area. The event will take place rain or shine. You may register online at HERE through noon on Sept. 20 or at the event at 9 a.m.; the 5K or 10K Walks will start at 10 a.m.
Lunch will follow the Walk, with service beginning at 11 a.m. Plan to stay and enjoy food, fun, and fellowship with your team members and friends. You can walk or run 5K or 10K. For more information about the walk, click HERE.
