The Southwest Virginia Museum Historical State Park will offer a monthly "Prowl the Powell" nature series on the third Saturday of each month.
Participants who are interested in the Prowl the Powell Nature Series should meet park rangers and volunteers at the front gate of the museum. Each month a different topic will be discussed; this month’s topic will be Insects. Guest will walk along the beautiful Powell River and learn about what crawly and flying things call the Powell River and its valley home. Guests will leave the program with a greater appreciation for the critical importance of the insects as a pinnacle member of the food chain and how important insects are to the natural world.
This monthly series will be held rain or shine. Participants are asked to wear appropriate clothing for the weather and comfortable walking shoes. Binoculars are encouraged but not required.
