Caterpillar Club

Just as caterpillars grow and change, our Caterpillar Club programs are designed to help your little one grow and change. Each week, we will have you and your child(ren) exploring our natural world through a variety of seasonally appropriate, hands-on activities that will foster children's inborn sense of wonder and curiosity. These experiences are gauged towards early childhood (3-5 years old), but of course, all family members are welcome and encouraged to participate. Every program supports Virginia's Blocks for Early Learning.

Please dress for the weather. We are meeting at Shelter 1. It is the shelter next to the playground by the Aquatics Complex.​​​​​​​

August 22 - 'Choo Choo': Learn about trains then paint your own.
August 29 - Seeds of Change: The seasons are changing and so are our plants.
September 5 - Trail Tales: Read a tall tale as you hike a trail.
September 12 - Leaf Rubbings: Get crafty as we take a closer look at leaves.
September 19 - Backyard Critters: Whooo's living in your backyard?
September 26 - Lumberjack Day: We can't let 'Sep-timmmmmmberrr' end without learning about trees.
