The Southwest Virginia Museum Historical State Park is excited to announce the fall semester of the WiseJAMS Music Program. WiseJAMS seeks to preserve our important Appalachian Mountain music heritage by offering low-cost classes in fiddle, old time banjo and guitar to small groups of students in after-school settings.
Classes will be held again this semester every Thursday from 3:45-5:45 p.m. and will serve students in grades 3-8. Youth who participate in this program are required to attend all weekly classes. During the classed, students will receive an after-school snack and a 90-minute instructional session.
Costs will be kept low. Fees for the program are $135 per semester for full pay. $68 for partial pay, and scholarships are available if tuition cost present a problem. We want all children to be able to participate in the WiseJAMS Music Program. Instruments will be provided “on loan” at no cost to the students while participating in the program.
