Join the Friends of Occoneechee State Park for a November Turkey Trot. The morning will begin at 9:30 a.m. with crafts for kids. The kids’ one-mile fun run will begin at 10:00 a.m. with games to follow. The 5K will begin at 11:00 a.m. Costumes and well-mannered, leashed pets are welcome. There is a $7 per vehicle parking fee, or you may donate four cans of food to be given to the local food bank. The event will be held at the park’s splash park and will be held rain or shine. The focus of the 5K is a fun run and will not be officially timed.
