Enjoy the fall season on an unforgettable canoeing adventure at Occoneechee State Park. The adventure starts with a mile-long wagon ride down the Panhandle Trail. We’ll stop on an isolated part of the trail to access the water. Once on the water, we will explore remote coves on Buggs Island Lake. This is the perfect opportunity to observe wildlife and enjoy the fall season during this leisurely three-mile paddle. All canoeing equipment is provided. You’ll need sturdy closed-toe water shoes, and please bring water and snacks. We will have to carry canoes through the woods a short distance to access the water. Basic canoeing instruction is available for those new to canoeing. Participants must be at least 6 years old. Space is limited, so please pre-register at the Visitor Center or call 434-374-2210.
