Virginia is home to a healthy population of black bears; do you know what to do if you encounter one? It is important for people to learn about black bears and to know what they can do to prevent conflicts. Our park guide will give you the 'bear' facts about this beautiful and remarkable creature. Explore the many ways that you can prevent negative encounters with a bear and discover the best course of action to take if you come across a bear unexpectedly. With a little consideration we can help prevent problems, keep bears wild, and happily coexist with them.
