Gather along the Shenandoah River to watch the Geminids Meteor Shower! 

Visitors can expect to see as many as 100 meteors per hour! This shower got its name from the famous constellation Gemini because the meteors appear to originate from the constellation. A ranger will be there to help you find Gemini, discuss the phenomenon of this meteor shower, and tell the tale of how the Shenandoah River got its famous nickname, Daughter of Stars.

Please bring a lawn chair or blanket and wear warm clothes! Hot chocolate will be available on-site. 

This event is free, but standard parking fees apply.
