Citizens of the Chickahominy Indian Tribe are sharing their practice of pine needle basketry in this hands-on workshop. Besides creating your own timeless piece of art, participants will learn the historical and cultural significance of various crafts and tools from the Powhatan Algonquian tribal nations. Engage with the natural world by using locally sourced loblolly pine needles to create a sustainable and eco-friendly art piece. All supplies will be provided. This program is suitable for ages 12 and up.
