Douthat State Park is home to many fascinating mammals, including black bears. Curious about these elusive creatures? Join us this winter for a special program where you’ll learn all about black bears, their winter habits, and how to safely enjoy the view from a distance—if you’re lucky enough to spot one in nature.

As part of the fun, you’ll also get to make your very own bear claw necklace to take home, creating a memorable keepsake of your visit. Don’t miss this opportunity to discover more about one of Virginia’s most iconic wildlife species!
