Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m., beginning Feb. 15 through April 30, per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

Join a Ranger to learn about science and nature at Leesylvania State Park! Please check the dates below for specific topics. This program is intended for children ages 5-9 years old. To reserve your spot please call the Visitor Center Monday-Friday at 703-583-6904. Payment is required at time of sign up. Rangers are prepared for rain or shine so dress for the weather.

February 5 @ 10 a.m.: Slime Making. Be a scientist for the day with our park rangers.

February 12 @ 10 a.m.: Nature's Nursery: Learn how different animals care for their young.

February 19 @ 10 a.m.: Snakes: Join Rangers to learn about shedding, anatomy, diet, and more.

February 26 @ 10 a.m.: Park History: Participate in a guided museum tour and scavenger hunt with a ranger.
