June is a beautiful month to get outdoors and enjoy what mother nature has to offer. So, come on out on National Trails Day and get ready to have some fun. Whether you are hiking on foot, riding on your bike, or exploring with your equestrian companion, Staunton River State Park has got a trail for you.
Feel free to grab one of our trash collection baskets at the Visitor Center. If you return to the Visitor Center with a basket filled with litter, we will trade your trash for a free slushy! The standard parking fee is required unless you are a cabin or campground guest.
About National Trails Day
On the first Saturday of June, Virginia State Parks celebrates National Trails Day, an annual event encouraging outdoor enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels to explore hiking, biking and equestrian trails. Virginia’s 43 state parks offer guided hikes, trail maintenance workshops and volunteer opportunities to highlight trail stewardship and the importance of preserving trails for future generations.
