Join us for a special guided battle walk commemorating the 160th anniversary of the Battles of High Bridge and the fighting around Farmville. Explore how these engagements played a critical role in the closing days of the Civil War, leading to the surrender at Appomattox just two days later.
During this two-hour walk, you will:
- Follow the paths of Confederate and Union forces.
- Discover the strategic importance of High Bridge and the fight to control it.
- Hear compelling stories of bravery and sacrifice that unfolded in this historic region.
This program is free, but a standard $5 per vehicle parking fee applies. Please meet at the Camp Paradise parking area, located at: 1466 Camp Paradise Road, Rice, Virginia.
