Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m., beginning Feb. 15 through April 30, per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

International Astronomy Day is an annual event created to celebrate the importance of astronomy, a long-standing science throughout the world. Our ancestors have looked at the same night sky with curiosity of the universe for centuries, just as we do today. Bring your curiosity and celebrate the day at Natural Tunnel with our astronomy volunteers as they share the wonders of the sun, solar system, and much more. Telescopes with a solar filter will be used for safe viewing. All ages are welcome. 

Natural Tunnel State Park is proud to offer red/green colorblindness correcting outdoor glasses by EnChroma during all offered programming; three protan red sensitivity and three deutan green sensitivity are available for use during programs.
