As the sun dips low and the night draws near, we humans usually turn in for the night...but this is show time for bats! Join us to celebrate these amazing animals during this special series in collaboration with Bat Conservation & Rescue of Virginia and Virginia's Department of Wildlife Resources. We'll uncover the wonders of these mysterious creatures with interactive activities and conversations with bat experts. We'll head out into field to listen and look for bats as they take to the skies. With the aid of specialized bat-detecting equipment, we'll even pick up on their vocalizations that we can't normally hear!
This program includes optional easy walking on flat ground. Wear comfortable walking shoes and dress accordingly if you are sensitive to mosquito bites. Bring binoculars if you have them.
Register here to let us know you're coming, and we will contact you if the program is cancelled due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
