Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m., beginning Feb. 15 through April 30, per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

Meet a Ranger at the Visitor Center for a guided hike to see if you can spot any of our springtime birds. Borrow a pair of binoculars or bring your own and find out what apps and guides you can use for bird identification. Click here to register for this program.

This is an outdoor walking program, so please be sure to wear appropriate clothing for the weather. Terrain is not always smooth around the park, there may be rocks, roots, leaves, snow/ice, and the ground may be wet. Please wear boots or shoes appropriate for these kinds of conditions.
