Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m., beginning Feb. 15 through April 30, per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

Join a Ranger to learn about science and nature at Leesylvania State Park! Wild Weather will educate your young learner on pressure, wind, and weather. Ranger-guided experiments will demonstrate how different devices help us understand the wild weather outside. This program is intended for children ages 5-17 years old.

To reserve your spot please call the Visitor Center Monday-Friday at 703-583-6904. Payment is required at time of sign up. Rangers are prepared for rain or shine so dress for the weather.
