Walk in the footsteps of moonshiners of decades gone by. Visit the remains of two old moonshine stills and learn about the fascinating, and sometimes tragic, history of our local moonshining activities.

Guests will meet the interpretive ranger at the Visitor Center then drive to the hike location.

This hike is over steep, uneven terrain and is difficult. We do not recommend bringing small children on this hike. High top shoes, long pants, insect spray, and a walking stick are advised.

To celebrate this significant anniversary, Virginia State Parks hosts History and Culture Day every year on June 15, providing a unique opportunity for visitors to explore the stories that make our parks special while enjoying the scenic beauty of its natural landscapes.
