The Southwest Virginia Museum Historical State Park will offer a monthly "Birding in the Gap" program on the second Saturday of each month (with the exception of October and December). This series will be hosted by our dedicated park rangers and volunteers, who are excited to share their knowledge and passion for birds with you.

For those interested, we invite you to meet us at the front gate of the museum. Together, we will explore the museum grounds and stroll along the stunning greenbelt on the Powell River in Big Stone Gap. This easy and accessible walk offers a wonderful opportunity to immerse yourself in the captivating world of birds.

This monthly series will be held rain or shine. Participants are asked to wear appropriate clothing for the weather and comfortable walking shoes. Binoculars are encouraged but not required.
