Native biodiversity is crucial for a healthy environment.

During this program, a ranger will discuss the importance of native plants. First, we will start out with a hike on our Cottonwood Trail to experience natural biodiversity in a forest environment. Then, we will return to our River Bend Discovery Center to create our take-home wildflower starters. Don't worry about care for these flowers, because there's good news - native plants require little to no care! All supplies are provided, and all ages are welcome.

Parks are for everyone. Please let us know if you need special accommodations.

For more information about this program, please call (540) 622-2262 or email samantha.house@dcr.virginia.gov
