Earth Day : Can You Build the Best Soil Filter?

Join Lord Fairfax Soil and Water Conservation District (LFSWCD) for an exciting and engaging program about soils! Did you know that soil helps keep our local waterways clean? Compete against your friends and family to build the best soil filter and remove the most “pollution” from water before it enters a waterway. Each participant will have the ability to experiment with multiple filters!

All vehicles must display a valid daily or annual parking pass while on park property. Either pass can be purchased as you enter the park that day. The pass can be used for both access points, all day.

About Earth Day

In celebration of Earth Day on April 22, Virginia State Parks offers a range of special events and activities highlighting the importance of conservation and sustainability. Visitors are invited to participate in educational programs, guided nature walks, wildlife observation, tree plantings and service projects to help preserve the beauty and biodiversity of the state’s 43 parks.
