Leave No Trace with Bigfoot

April 22, 2025. 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

For Earth Day, learn how to Leave No Trace with 'Bigfoot'. A park volunteer will be leading activities teaching the basics of Leave No Trace principles and will take attendees on a short hike (less than a half of a mile). You may even an encounter a rare sight on the trail! Everyone should be wearing closed-toe shoes and hiking clothes. Be prepared to be outside with water, sunscreen and bug spray recommended.

About Earth Day

In celebration of Earth Day on April 22, Virginia State Parks offers a range of special events and activities highlighting the importance of conservation and sustainability. Visitors are invited to participate in educational programs, guided nature walks, wildlife observation, tree plantings and service projects to help preserve the beauty and biodiversity of the state’s 43 parks.
