Join the staff and volunteers of Pocahontas State Park for an important community event aimed at preserving the natural beauty of the park and its surrounding watershed. We will be collecting trash from key areas, including the day-use area, Swift Creek Dam, and Beach Road.
Participants are encouraged to wear appropriate clothing and bring water for hydration. The park will provide trash bags and gloves for all volunteers.
This event is family-friendly, and small prizes will be awarded for categories such as "Most Trash Collected," "Weirdest Item Found," and "Heaviest Piece." Your participation will help ensure that the park remains clean and enjoyable for all visitors.

About Clean the Bay Day
Every June, Virginia State Parks participates in the Chesapeake Bay Foundation’s Clean the Bay Day, an event dedicated to protecting and preserving the Chesapeake Bay watershed. Park visitors are invited to join a clean-up to help remove litter, debris and pollution from rivers, streams and shorelines that feed into the Bay, contributing to the health of the Bay’s ecosystem and ensuring cleaner water and safer habitats for wildlife.
