It is National Trails Day and we are looking for volunteers! Trash bags and gloves will be available at the Camp Store and Visitor Center 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. if you'd like to strike out on your own cleaning adventure along any of the easy, scenic trails of Belle Isle.
Closed toed shoes, pants, work gloves and bug spray are recommended, trash bags and gloves are provided. Remember to bring your reusable water bottle.
About National Trails Day
On the first Saturday of June, Virginia State Parks celebrates National Trails Day, an annual event encouraging outdoor enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels to explore hiking, biking and equestrian trails. Virginia’s 43 state parks offer guided hikes, trail maintenance workshops and volunteer opportunities to highlight trail stewardship and the importance of preserving trails for future generations.
