Stop by from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. to explore the amazing variety of Virginia's RAPTORS with hands-on activities and touchable models. Get answers to burning questions such as..."How big is an eagle egg?" and "How is an owl feather different from a hawk feather?" The friendly folks from Family Learning Adventures will share all sorts of fascinating facts about Virginia's birds of prey. While you're here, don't miss the live birds of prey program with AWARE wildlife rehabbers starting at 1 p.m. at Shelter 1.

About National Kids to Parks Day

Virginia State Parks celebrates National Kids to Parks Day on the third Saturday in May by offering a variety of fun, family-friendly activities, from nature scavenger hunts and ranger-led hikes to fishing clinics and flora and fauna wagon rides. This annual event encourages kids to explore the outdoors while learning about wildlife and engaging in hands-on environmental education.
