Connect with others as we officially open our Nature Play area. We know the value of kids' play, especially kids playing outdoors. We have restructured our Nature Play area with new elements and kept some favorites. We will have kid friendly hands-on activities to help us learn about the park's historical and natural resources. Meet us at the Nature Play Area off Farmstead Trail, near the picnic shelter.

About National Kids to Parks Day

Virginia State Parks celebrates National Kids to Parks Day on the third Saturday in May by offering a variety of fun, family-friendly activities, from nature scavenger hunts and ranger-led hikes to fishing clinics and flora and fauna wagon rides. This annual event encourages kids to explore the outdoors while learning about wildlife and engaging in hands-on environmental education.
