The Taskinas Creek Trail is one of the most beautiful and challenging hikes in eastern Virginia. Experience the elevation changes of roller coaster like ravines. Keep an open eye for eagles in flight and muskrats taking a swim.   Take in the panoramic views of the marsh and observe the wildlife.  The trail head is at the split rail fence near the horse trailer parking lot.  Explore the marsh and woodlands

About National Trails Day

On the first Saturday of June, Virginia State Parks celebrates National Trails Day, an annual event encouraging outdoor enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels to explore hiking, biking and equestrian trails. Virginia’s 43 state parks offer guided hikes, trail maintenance workshops and volunteer opportunities to highlight trail stewardship and the importance of preserving trails for future generations.
