Come learn about the history of fossils in Virginia with Chief Ranger Hillborn at Widewater State Park! You will be able to view a collection of brachiopods, fish, plants, and even some dinosaur bones while learning about how fossils are formed, where they come from, and what to look for when searching for them.

Participants will meet at Shelter 3 in the Potomac picnic area. Make sure to wear appropriate footwear as there may be a short hike to look for fossils, if time allows. In the instance of bad weather, the program will be held inside of the Visitor Center.
