Beach Clean Up

Come and join us for our volunteer-based beach clean up.

Staff and volunteers will work together to remove litter, debris, and other pollutants from Westmoreland State Park's beautiful fossil beach.

The goal of this event is to protect marine ecosystems, local wildlife, and the environment as a whole. 

It's also a great chance to get outdoors and help out the local community.  Be sure to contact our Volunteer Coordinator (maggie.fanning@dcr.virginia.gov) if interested in helping with this event.

About National Kids to Parks Day

Virginia State Parks celebrates National Kids to Parks Day on the third Saturday in May by offering a variety of fun, family-friendly activities, from nature scavenger hunts and ranger-led hikes to fishing clinics and flora and fauna wagon rides. This annual event encourages kids to explore the outdoors while learning about wildlife and engaging in hands-on environmental education.
