Pocahontas Premieres once again is having its Mini Bluegrass Festival. This 2025 concert brings back some performers from the past as well as some new groups performing for the first time at Pocahontas State Park. Our Heritage Amphitheater will be the stage this year for the following groups:
Josh Grigsby and County Line began in 2013 and became very popular on the local music scene. Based out of the beautiful Northern Neck of Virginia, the award-winning band plays traditional, contemporary, gospel and bluegrass music giving the audience a wholesome connection. More band info HERE.
Tara Mills Band, based out of Charlottesville, is inspired by the Blue Ridge Mountains and the rich musical traditions tied to them. Tara Mills describes her music as, "original mountain americana;" an original blend of folk, bluegrass, and americana. Tara combines her lyrics and voice with southern Virginia native Gabe Robey to create a powerful, driving sound. More band info HERE.
Hickory Ridge Bluegrass Band: Performing original and bluegrass standards, folk, and Americana music with influences by groups and musicians such as The Seldom Scene, The Stanley Brothers, Tim O’Brien, Kenny Baker and The Country Gentleman, Hickory Ridge brings infectious energy and skillful execution to the Virginia bluegrass scene. Hammaville, is a vibrant bluegrass band based in Virginia, bringing the sounds of traditional Appalachian music into the modern era. With a lineup featuring fiddle, banjo, mandolin, guitar, and bass, the band crafts rich harmonies and locked-in rhythm that capture the heart of this musical style. Known for their energetic live shows and tight-knit musicianship, Hammaville blends classic bluegrass with their own unique flair, creating an experience that resonates with both long-time fans and new listeners alike. Gates open one hour before show time. Admission is $20 per person, and children ages 5 and under are free. Advanced tickets are available online or at the Park Office. Parking fee required at all times. This event is sponsored by Friends of Pocahontas State Park.
