Come join a ranger for Kids to Parks Day! Join us for a beautiful riverside hike in the park. Come show your appreciation for local parks in your area! This is a great way to show support for Virginia State Parks! Meeting for this event will be at the Sugar Hill Trail Head. Please wear close toed shoes as we will be hiking. In case of bad weather this event will be rescheduled. We hope to see you there!

About National Kids to Parks Day

Virginia State Parks celebrates National Kids to Parks Day on the third Saturday in May by offering a variety of fun, family-friendly activities, from nature scavenger hunts and ranger-led hikes to fishing clinics and flora and fauna wagon rides. This annual event encourages kids to explore the outdoors while learning about wildlife and engaging in hands-on environmental education.
